Throughout the course, students will undertake subjects in studio practice, painting methods, sculpture, drawing and mixed media, art history, digital & moving image, photography, and exhibition practice. Small class sizes and one-to-one teaching allows students to rapidly forge a creative direction and identify an independent visual art practice. In their second year of study, Advanced Diploma students will be allotted their own individual studio space in which to work and create their art.

At Latrobe College of Art & Design, we are dedicated exclusively to the courses we teach. This allows us to attract experienced teaching staff and provide state-of-the-art resources for our students.

Our visual art courses are taught in fully equipped studios with up-to-date amenities to create an inspiring learning environment. Our facilities include digital labs, workshops, and common rooms to create a friendly environment for students who are seriously committed to developing their art practice.

Students also exhibit their work in the Latrobe College Gallery Space, and each year they have opportunities to join our annual trips to New York, the Venice Biennale or Berlin to complete an intensive unit of study.
